Strathalbyn is just a 45 minute drive from Adelaide, 20 minutes on from Mount Barker up the freeway. Langhorne Creek Wine Region is a pretty 10 minute drive.
The Strathalbyn Tourism brochure includes a local map showing destinations, services, walking trails and key features. You can download a pdf here

Heritage Walk
A Heritage Walk Brochure is available from the Strathalbyn Visitor Information Centre (former railway station) on South Terrace.
You can also download a self guided walking tour map (pdf) here
Walking Trails
After enjoying a lovely meal at one of our many cafes, why not stretch your legs on the walking trails along the River Angas. The trails are popular with locals and tourists, as well as some of our friendly resident ducks. There are also a number of interesting “scar trees” that reveal a snippet of the lives of the Aboriginal nations that wandered and met in the Strathalbyn district prior to European colonisation.
You can access the main trail behind the Terminus Hotel on Rankine Street, or pick up a map from the Strathalbyn Visitor Information Centre (former railway station) on South Terrace.
The River Angas Walkway is promoted by Walking SA.
