The Museum will reopen from Friday 5 June 10am to 4pm, and be open every day over the weekend including the Public Holiday Monday 8 June.
Normal opening hours will resume from Wed 10 June, where the Museum will open Wednesday to Sunday, from 10am to 4pm.
Think motoring history, motorcycles, vintage, classic, muscle and new cars on show for all to see and enjoy.
The museum is bringing people together, creating a stronger community and developing more tourism destinations in town.
Strathalbyn has long been a destination for motoring groups, being centrally located between Adelaide, Victor Harbor, Murray Bridge and “The Bend” at Tailem Bend. Since the town was an established motoring destination the Strathalbyn Tourism Association decided a motoring museum that was dedicated to showcasing the motoring history of the area was a good idea.
Strathalbyn has numerous antique shops, bric-a-brac outlets, op-shops and second-hand book stores.
You’ll find that most antique stores are concentrated in High Street, with other second-hand shopping opportunities located in the side streets off Dawson Street. The quality and variety of the antiques in Strathalbyn even brought Bargain Hunt Australia and Australian Pickers to film in Strathalbyn.
Strathalbyn’s famous Antiques and Collectables Fair is scheduled on the weekend of the 15 and 16 August 2020. A decision on whether it goes ahead will be made closer to the date.
